In August 2016 DCSL PLC and Melstacorp entered into a share restructure arrangement, in what is believed to be Sri Lanka’s first 180 degree share swap where Melstacorp became the parent company of DCSL PLC and subsidiaries of the DCSL Group.

In 2018 Aitken Spence PLC has become a full subsidiary of Melstacorp PLC.
