Stassen has acquired the controlling interest in Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC). In the competitive insurance market, the insurance giant has cornered a sizeable section of both Life Insurance and Non-Life Insurance in the country, strengthening its market share to approximately 40%. The company also received an AA-(sri) National Insurer Financial Strength Rating from Fitch Ratings London, becoming the first and only insurer to do so in Sri Lanka. SLIC's collaboration with ING-IGA of Netherlands, the world's largest asset management company and second-largest insurer in the world, will ensure global best practices and an enhancement of its commitment to achieve international standards in all of its operations.
