Stassen owns Lanka Milk Foods, which operates
one of Asia's largest milk powder packing plants, with the standards
of hygiene matching those of the best in Europe and Australasia.
The milk powder 'Lakspray' is a household name island-wide,
and holds a market share in excess of 25%. The group has one
of the best distribution networks in the country, consisting
of 85,000 outlets criss-crossing the entire Island. The company
also operates a tetra packing plant which produces liquid milk
marketed under the brand name 'Daily', offering a range of delicious
flavoured milk. 'Suntop' fruit juices, bottled goats milk, yoghurt
and cheese have also been introduced into the market. Some of
the company's products, such as Daily and Lakspray are also
being exported to the Maldives.
