Since the inception of our company in the late 1970s, we have aimed at excellence in every aspect, never compromising our dedication, vision and dynamism. 30 years later, we are proud to be recognized as one of the major business conglomerates in Sri Lanka. Through the years, we achieved a number of milestones including being the pioneering manufacturer and exporter of Green tea and Organic tea, being the leading exporter of desiccated coconut and spices and winning the Presidential Export Award for five consecutive years.
In 1977, Stassen Exports was launched. Spurred on by Sri Lanka's shift to an open economy, our founders declared their mission to challenge the giants who held the stage in the export of quality teas. By 1982, we had already advanced to the position of being the 5th largest exporter of quality teas from Sri Lanka and by 1988 we became the country's leading tea exporter. In 1987, we earned the distinction of having the world's first certified organic tea garden. Today, we are one of the largest organic tea producers in the world, with an annual production of 500 tons.
Presently, we are involved in manufacturing, exporting and importing of an extensive range of products. The services we offer are in the sectors of banking, power generation, travel and tourism, hotel services, cargo logistics, insurance and plantations.
As we stride forth into the new millennium, we are confident that we will continue to be instrumental in the development of our country's growth. Our global vision expands as we step forward into new international markets.
